The lawn gives you that open-air ceremony feeling while still feeling tucked into the property. Surrounded by the house and all that greenery, it feels romantic without needing much added to it. And once your guests are there and everything is set, the house becomes part of the ceremony backdrop rather than just another building sitting behind it.
Not just the front of the house — the porches, side light, interiors, lawn, architectural lines, and all of the tucked-away corners give you so much variety without ever needing to leave the property.
That matters more than people realize. You can move from something really clean and classic to something softer and more intimate without the photos starting to feel repetitive. The windows, taller ceilings, and quieter rooms also make those first few hours feel a little more intentional. Hair and makeup, getting dressed, gifts, champagne, the people coming in and out—it all gets to happen somewhere that already feels connected to the wedding instead of separate from it.
And from a photography standpoint, that gives us a lot to work with before we ever step outside.

You chose this place because you loved how it felt—the house, the grounds, the people filling it—and I want you to actually experience all of that instead of spending half the wedding being pulled away for photos.
I’m looking at more than the obvious shot in front of the house. I’m watching how the light moves through the rooms, what’s happening on the porch while everyone else is somewhere else, the reactions happening behind you, and the little pieces of the day that make the gallery feel like your wedding rather than just a beautiful wedding at Merrimon-Wynne.
There will be times when I’ll guide you, straighten something, or take you somewhere because I can already see the photograph coming together. And there will be plenty of times when the best thing I can do is leave everything exactly as it is.
