Some people make being photographed ridiculously easy, and Ricky is one of them.
We spent the day walking around New York with him and honestly just let things happen. No trying to make every location perfect or turning every five minutes into a photoshoot. We walked, talked, stopped when something looked good and photographed him in the middle of everything that was already happening around us.
And New York obviously gives you A LOT to work with. ? Storefronts, weird little pockets of light, reflections, people everywhere, and about a million things happening at once. Instead of fighting all of that, we wanted it in the photographs. Because when you’re creating branding photos for someone, where they are and how they move through that space can tell you just as much about them as a portrait can.
That’s probably our favorite part of branding photography anyway. We don’t want to hand someone a bunch of perfectly posed headshots that could have been taken anywhere. We want the photos to actually feel like them.
Ricky gave us plenty to work with.
